Science Week 2025 · Marimurtra Botanical Garden
From 7 to 16 November, the Marimurtra Botanical Garden celebrates Science Week with activities for all ages, bringing research, nature and sustainability closer to the public.
- 8 November at 10:00 a.m. — Scientific Monograph
This year’s edition, entitled Aquatic Environments, focuses on biodiversity, conservation and the management of freshwater ecosystems, as well as the plants that inhabit them. The event will bring together specialists from various research centres and organisations to share knowledge and experiences for a better understanding of these fragile yet essential ecosystems.
- 15 November at 10:00 a.m. — Scientific Day: “Marimurtra + Científic”
Scientific conference at the Marimurtra Botanical Garden as part of Science Week 2025, offering an immersion into the Garden’s conservation, outreach and research projects. This year, Science Week focuses on Quantum Theory and Digital Citizenship, with a Marimurtra+Científic programme that brings science closer to the public and highlights Marimurtra’s role in science communication.
The day will begin with an institutional welcome, followed by a lecture on education, outreach and digital citizenship by Marimurtra’s science communication team. After a coffee break, the event will continue with presentations on marine habitats and a conference dedicated to Humboldt, by Jordi Serrallonga.
To conclude the day, the new poster dedicated to Humboldt will be inaugurated by Anna Sans, and visitors will be able to see an exhibition of infographics and posters about the Garden’s current projects.
