Families will enjoy botanical activities and workshops, guided tours, local gastronomy, and a plant market
After the success of its first edition, the Marimurtríssim festival returns on Sunday, May 11th, to fill the Marimurtra Botanical Garden with botanical activities, workshops, treasure hunts, and guided tours aimed at families, from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
With a programme designed for both children and adults, Marimurtríssim combines outdoor workshops and activities in the unique setting of the Marimurtra Botanical Garden. Under the umbrella of the Biodiversity Corner, three practical and educational workshops are offered to promote respect for nature: building a birdhouse (10:00), an insect hotel (11:15), or a bird feeder (12:30).
There are also botanical activities aimed at stimulating creativity, the senses, and connection with the plant world: printing with natural dyes and plant elements led by Anna Colomer (10:00), botanical crafts using natural materials (11:15), and a healthy family cooking workshop with the chefs from Kilòmetre0.cat (12:30).
During the festival, three guided tours are offered (at 10:00, 12:30, and 15:30), led by an expert guide who will share curiosities about plants and animals, the role of pollinators, and why biodiversity is essential to the health of the garden. A great opportunity to see the garden with fresh eyes and connect with its scientific, educational, and emotional value in this unique Costa Brava setting.
This year’s festival stands out for offering a gluten-free culinary proposal featuring dishes such as croquettes, potatoes, chicken wings, and soft ice creams from Les Cabanyes rotisserie. There will also be homemade paella, freshly sliced ham, and montaditos from the renowned La Esquinita Group, served with their own house wine. For beer lovers, Marina craft beer, brewed in Blanes, will complete this authentic gastronomic experience.
Visitors will also enjoy a plant sale by local nurseries — ACAO, Suculentitis, and Tilaria — offering a selection of vegetation adapted to our climate and environment. This initiative aims to support local growers and promote proximity-based consumption.
Marimurtríssim is a proposal designed to be shared as a family, to connect with nature, and to discover the magic of Marimurtra through a playful and participatory lens.
