Accessibility

1. Commitment to Accessibility

At the Marimurtra Botanical Garden, we believe that nature is for everyone. That’s why we work to make the experience of visiting the garden as accessible as possible for all people, regardless of their abilities or specific needs. We know that there is still a way to go, but we strive every day to move towards a more inclusive garden.

2. Access to the Garden

The main entrance to the garden is located at Passeig de Carles Faust, 9, in Blanes. The Garden does not have its own parking, but right in front of the entrance there is a small parking area that includes a space reserved for people with reduced mobility, as well as space to briefly stop to drop off passengers.

In addition, it is possible to park in the Cala Sant Francesc area, located just 4 minutes on foot from the main entrance.

3. Mobility Within the Garden

We have a specific map with the accessible route, which you can download from this same page here.

This route allows you to enjoy a good part of the garden while avoiding stairs. However, the garden has areas with more or less steep slopes, so we recommend keeping that in mind before starting your visit.

  • The temple area is accessible by avoiding the stairs.
  • The pergola area is the only one accessible only via stairs.

4. Information and Signage Elements

Along the route, you will find several information points marked with QR codes, which allow you to access digital content in various formats:

  • 50 remarkable specimens of the garden, with data sheets available in audio, text and image.

  • Medicinal plants itinerary, also with explanatory QR codes with text.

  • Nomadic boards, which include descriptive texts accessible via QR.

  • Interior maps of the garden with additional information available through QR.

All this content is designed to facilitate understanding and accessibility and can be accessed with your mobile device.

5. Available Services

  • The garden has a toilet adapted for people with reduced mobility. The key can be requested at the main access point.

  • There are resting benches along the accessible route.

  • The bar and picnic area at Marimurtra are accessible to people with reduced mobility.
  • We recommend bringing water or reusable bottles, especially on hot days. Ask the staff if you need help locating fountains or shaded areas.

6. Adapted Activities and Visits

At Marimurtra we offer an activity designed for groups with specific needs: the guided activity “Marimurtra diversa”, an experience designed to adapt to each group and its characteristics.

This visit is conducted with prior reservation, and allows a personalized approach to the garden, ensuring a comfortable, pleasant and enriching visit.
