The family-friendly botanical festival is the perfect opportunity to explore the Marimurtra Botanical Garden (from 9 am to 6 pm), discover its botanical collection, and enjoy unique experiences with the whole family.
The second edition of the family botanical festival Marimurtríssim, which will take place next Sunday (May 11th) at the Marimurtra Botanical Garden, will offer quality gluten-free local cuisine in a unique natural setting. The event includes a wide range of fun and educational botanical activities designed for families.
This year, the festival stands out for offering a gluten-free culinary selection featuring dishes such as croquettes, fries, chicken wings, and soft-serve ice cream from Les Cabanyes. There will also be homemade paella, freshly sliced ham, and montaditos from the renowned La Esquinita Group, paired with their own house wine. And for beer lovers, Marina craft beer, brewed in Blanes, will complete this local gastronomic experience.
In addition to food, the highlight of Marimurtríssim is the full programme of family botanical activities, with interactive workshops for all ages. These start at 10 am with two options: building a nesting box for birds or decorating a tote bag with natural dyes. At 11:15 am, families can choose between making an insect hotel or engaging in botanical crafts using natural materials. Two more fun activities will follow at 12:30 pm: making a bird feeder and joining a healthy family cooking workshop with the chefs from Kilòmetre0.cat.
For those wanting to enjoy the flora at its finest and learn its secrets, professional guides from the Garden will lead three special guided tours on Sunday (at 10:00 am, 12:30 pm, and 3:30 pm) to discover one of the most iconic corners of the Costa Brava.
Visitors will also enjoy a plant market by local nurseries —ACAO, Suculentitis, and Tilaria— offering a selection of vegetation adapted to the local climate and environment. This initiative aims to support local growers and promote sustainable consumption.
Marimurtríssim is made possible thanks to the support of several local sponsors, organisations, and companies committed to culture, sustainability, and local promotion. Their contributions help bring this unique Costa Brava festival to life: Orvis Connecta, Muralla Òptica, Taller Moles, Lampisteria Roser, Construccions i Reformes Valentín Sojo, and Arts Gràfiques Roure. Also collaborating are the Oncolliga Foundation and the Aspronis Foundation, who will showcase their projects and artisanal products.
