The Marimurtra Centennial Drawing Contest Returns to the Schools of Blanes

Once again, the Carl Faust Foundation is announcing the Marimurtra Centennial Drawing Contest, an initiative aimed at primary schools in Blanes to encourage observation and creativity among students visiting the Botanical Garden.

This contest was launched in 2021 with the goal of fostering artistic expression among young students by exploring the nature and history of Marimurtra. Over the years, it has evolved into a key event in the school calendar. As part of the Garden’s centennial celebrations, the 2023/2024 edition expanded its reach, and this year it returns with the challenge of discovering how students interpret founder Carl Faust, biodiversity, and the architecture of Marimurtra.

The contest features two prize categories:

  • Mar Category: The best drawings from each school cycle (initial, middle, and upper) from each participating school will be awarded.

  • Murtra Category: The three best drawings, one from each cycle, among all participating schools will be recognized.

The deadline to submit drawings is May 19. To participate, students must complete the registration form.

On June 10, the winners of the Mar category will be announced, and on June 17, the award ceremony will be held at Marimurtra. During this event, the Mar category winners will receive their recognition, and the Murtra category winners will be revealed, receiving an additional special gift.

We hope this new edition of the contest will be a rewarding experience for all students and an opportunity to connect with the beauty of Marimurtra through drawing!
