The Carl Faust Foundation will launch, starting in September, a series of practical gardening and vegetable garden workshops aimed at the elderly in Blanes. The aim is to improve the physical and emotional well-being of participants, promoting exercise, cognitive stimulation and socialization, as well as bringing the Garden closer to the citizens of Blanes, discovering the secrets of growing and caring for plants.
Program
The program has four different workshops, which all registered participants will attend.
- In September, it will be the turn of the gardening workshop, in which it will be explained how to plant and care for indoor and outdoor plants so that they grow healthy and beautiful. All participants will make several plantings that they will take home to continue their growth.
- In October, they will be taught how to easily create a vegetable garden to have a small space with vegetables at home where they can grow their own seasonal, ecological and toxic-free species.
- The month of November will be dedicated to medicinal plants, discovering their medicinal and culinary properties, which are very effective in treating ailments associated with aging.
- The last of the workshops will be in December, when it is planned to prepare a collage painting using plant materials from the Marimurtra Botanical Garden (plants, flowers, leaves, stems, roots and fruits), as well as Christmas decorations.
