The garden through the magnifying glass

At Marimurtra, we believe that the best way to love nature is by understanding how it works. For this reason, we have installed free-to-use magnifying glasses on the Garden maps.

This initiative is designed so that children (and adults too!) can experience the scientific method first-hand through direct observation.

Why observe with a magnifying glass?

• Experiential learning: Seeing it with your own eyes is not the same as being told about it. Handling scientific tools encourages natural curiosity.

• Invisible details: Discover the geometry of Monstera deliciosa leaves, the texture of bark, or the frenetic movement of the pollinators that inhabit the garden.

• Scientific vocation: Stimulating observation from childhood is the seed for training future botanists and naturalists.

How does it work?

1. Find your magnifying glass: You will find them located on the maps of the second and third gardens.

2. Explore without limits: Get close to plants and insects to discover a new world of details.

3. Share the experience: When you are finished, return the magnifying glass to its original place. This way, other explorers can continue their research. (Please note they have an acoustic warning system if they are taken out of the garden).
