Therefore, we are pleased to share with you the recent publication of the “Environmentalization Guide for the Mediterranean Resilient Garden”, a key document to understand how green spaces can contribute to sustainability and biodiversity preservation.

This guide, prepared by Pere Fraga, Jorge Muñiz and Mercè Trias, offers a comprehensive reference framework for designing, managing, and supporting Mediterranean gardens with sustainability criteria. One of its co-authors, Pere Fraga, in addition to being a botanical researcher, is the botanical curator of the Marimurtra Botanical Garden.

A Guide for Everyone

Addressed to both professionals and gardening enthusiasts, the guide not only covers technical aspects but also emphasizes the shared responsibility to face the global environmental crisis. From the conception of a garden to its development, the document provides practical tools to manage green spaces with a long-term vision.

As Pere Fraga explains in this interview, the guide highlights the importance of adopting new ways of doing and thinking. The loss of biodiversity requires concrete actions, and initiatives like this are essential to move towards a more sustainable future.
