Easter at the Marimurtra Botanical Garden

Activities to discover nature as a family

The Marimurtra Botanical Garden has prepared a special programme to experience Easter in contact with nature. Between 28 March and 5 April, the garden will offer practical experiences, workshops and guided tours designed for families, adults and children’s groups.

This proposal invites visitors to discover the botanical secrets of the garden in a participatory and educational way, combining science, heritage and landscape in one of the most emblematic natural spaces on the Costa Brava.

Activities for families: Botany as a family

Families with children will be able to take part in Botany as a family, a 90-minute activity that combines learning and fun. The session will take place on Saturday 28 March at 4 pm.

After a short walk through the garden, children and adults will work together to solve botanical challenges in a hands-on and dynamic way. The activity allows participants to discover curiosities about plants and encourages a connection with the natural environment through play and experimentation.

Tast Estacional special Easter edition

For adult visitors, Marimurtra offers a special edition of the Tast Estacional, a themed guided tour that allows participants to discover the garden through plants linked to the symbolism of Easter.

The sessions will take place on Sundays 29 March and 5 April at 11.30 am. During the tour, participants will learn about the cultural, historical and botanical meaning of these species, exploring the relationship between plants and traditions.

Botanical Workshop: discovery and practical workshop

Another activity for adults is the Botanical Workshop, which will take place on Saturday 4 April at 11.30 am.

This activity combines a guided walk through unique areas of the Marimurtra Botanical Garden with a hands-on practical workshop. Participants will discover botanical, cultural and landscape points of interest, as well as the tasks of conservation, research and management of the collections carried out in the garden.

Mission Marimurtra: a scientific adventure for children’s groups

For holiday camps, youth groups and organisations that run activities for children during the holidays, Marimurtra proposes Mission Marimurtra, a dynamic activity where participants become scientists from around the world.

Through a series of tests and challenges, children will work as a team to solve a mission related to nature, plants and science, encouraging scientific curiosity and collaborative work.

Special Easter opening hours

During Easter, from 28 March to 6 April (both included), the Marimurtra Botanical Garden will extend its opening hours.

The garden will be open from 9.00 am to 6.30 pm, with last admission one hour before closing.
