Did you know?
The stone pine is one of the most characteristic trees of the Catalan coast.
It was introduced in Catalonia many years ago, which is why it can be said that it is an autochthonous species, native to the area. Pine nuts are used in confectionery and many typical Mediterranean dishes.
Its wood is not of high quality, and is mainly used to make beams for railways, naval constructions, paper pulp…
The resin is used to make cosmetics and perfumes.
