Description

It is a column-shaped cactus, which can reach 10 meters. The stems are cylinder-shaped and green. They are succulent, meaning very thick because they store water.

The spines form groups of between 50 and 100 spikes of different sizes. The longest can reach 30 centimeters.

They have large and showy flowers, about 14 centimeters, of a pinkish-white color. The fruit is globe-shaped and dark green in color and can be eaten.
